The challenge
A major international sporting event creates a fixed deadline and a complex operating environment. Stadiums, training grounds and other sites must function as parts of one coordinated security operation.
Bringing the solution together
Falcon Eye won and delivered physical security projects for two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations in Africa. The work combined specialist contractors, physical protection, surveillance and command systems with close coordination across the authorities responsible for the events.
Making it work on the ground
The documented scope for one edition covered 14 sites in two cities. International procurement and logistics ran alongside local recruitment, training and preparation of the teams responsible for operating the systems.
Beyond the immediate task
Integrated site, regional and national command arrangements supported event operations. Planning also considered how security infrastructure could serve a wider purpose after the competition.
